In diesem Jahr feiern die Inseln von Guernsey den 75. Jahrestag ihrer Befreiung nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Zu diesem Anlass wird auf Guernsey und den Nachbarinseln Alderney, Sark und Herm im Rahmen des Heritage Festivals ab April bis Oktober 2020 ein abwechslungsreiches Programm aus 75 besonderen Events angeboten.

Ein weiteres Jahreshighlight ist die Aufnahme der Kanalinseln in die Liberation Route Europe - einer Gedenkstrecke, die Besucher zu sehenswerten Befreiungsdenkmälern führt. Insgesamt 15 Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Castle Cornet oder der White Rock Pier wurden für die Strecke ausgewählt und mit wissenswerten Informationen beschildert. Die Stationen können über die Website oder App der Liberation Route angezeigt werden.
