DEKRA Hochschule für Medien bietet ab Sommersemester neuen Studiengang an

Die DEKRA Hochschule für Medien bietet ab dem Sommersemester 2017 den Masterstudiengang Film- und Fernsehkultur an. In dem interdisziplinären Studiengang werden zunächst die Grundlagen aus der Film- und Fernsehgeschichte, Filmgestaltung, Medientechnik sowie Ethik und Recht gelehrt. Hinzu kommen Module zu Formen des Visual Storytelling, Crossmediale Erzählformen, New perspectives on film and television sowie Intercultural cinema and television, wobei die letzten beiden Module in englischer Sprache gehalten werden.

In der Vertiefungsphase des Studiums können sich die Studierenden in den folgenden Richtungen spezialisieren: Spielfilm und Dokumentarfilm. Das Studium wird mit einer fachspezifischen Master Thesis abgeschlossen.

Das Angebot richtet sich an Bachelor-Absolventen aus den Studienrichtungen: Film & Fernsehen, Filmwissenschaft, Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, Literaturwissenschaft, Publizistik, Theater- und Kulturwissenschaft und Kunstgeschichte sowie an Medienpraktiker, die eine weitere Qualifikation anstreben.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate: Introduction

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is an anionic surfactant with chemical formula, C12(CH2)11SO4Na, a molecule which contains 12 carbon atoms attached to a sulphate group. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is also known as Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS) and Sodium dodecanesulphate. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is obtained by treating lauryl alcohol with sulphur trioxide gas, oleum/chlorosulphuric acid followed by neutralization with sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide. Also, it can be obtained from hydrolysis of coconut followed by hydrogenation of the products.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate possess amphiphilic properties which are highly desirable to be used in detergents. Also, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is a decent surfactant commonly used in oil stain and residue removal applications. For example, it is used in high concentrations in industrial products including engine degreasers, floor cleaners, and car wash soaps. Moreover, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is one the most common ingredients of chemicals used in domestic cleaning, personal hygiene and cosmetic products. It forms enormous lather when combined with water, which enables it to be used in shampoos and soaps and other foam producing products.

PEG and PPG Esters Market: Introduction

Polyethylene glycol esters are the products of a fatty acid or fatty alcohol and polyethylene glycol. Whereas, polypropylene glycol esters are the combination of propylene glycol mono and diesters of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids which are derived from fats and edible oils. The feedstock required in the production of PEG and PPG esters include edible oils such as palm oil and sunflower oil among others. PEG and PPG esters are utilized in thickeners, resin plasticizer, pacifiers, formulation of emulsifier blends, emollients, viscosity builders, etc. The most common feature of PEG appears to be water-solubility. It is also soluble in inorganic solvents such as aromatic hydrocarbons which makes it useful for various purposes. Various physical and chemical properties of PEG and PPG esters include non-irritating, non-ionic emulsifiers and non-toxicity. PEG and PPG esters are generally considered as non-greasy ingredients and hence reduce the greasiness in various end-use products.
