Die Agrar- und Veterinär- Akademie (AVA) hat in Horstmar-Leer ihre Zelte abgebrochen und hat in der 6 km entfernten Kreisstadt Steinfurt-Burgsteinfurt das neue Domizil im Martin-Luther-Haus (MLH) in der Wettringer Straße 10 bezogen. Der AVA bieten sich in der neuen Adresse gute Tagungsmöglichkeiten im MLH – der große Saal kann über 400 Personen aufnehmen; mehrere kleinere und mittlere Räume bieten Kapazitäten für Workshops und Seminare. Daneben stehen genügend Parkplätze für die Besucher kostenfrei direkt am Haus zur Verfügung, was heutzutage nicht selbstverständlich ist.

Die Akademie war die erste, die gemeinsame Fortbildungen mit Landwirten und Tierärzten auf Augenhöhe angeboten hat.
