Die offene, ideenreiche Haltung ihrer Einwohner sorgt dafür, dass es auf der niederländischen Watteninsel Texel ständig etwas Neues zu erleben gibt. Hier kommt ein kleiner Vorgeschmack auf das, was es 2020 in Sachen Kultur, Natur und Aktivitäten zu entdecken gilt.

Natur: Einzigartige Deich-Dünen-Landschaft

Damit Texel auch bei steigendem Meeresspiegel vor Überflutungen gefeit ist, wurden die Deiche an der Ostküste verstärkt. In diesem Rahmen entstand zwischen dem Fährhafen "t Horntje bis zum Fischereihafen in Oudeschild ein Dünengebiet, das vor dem Prins-Hendrik-Deich neu angelegt wurde. Diese weltweit bisher einzigartige Deich-Dünen-Kombination kann man ab sofort zu Fuß und mit dem Rad entdecken.
