Studie der Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität Krems demonstriert dauerhafte Verbesserung der Worterkennung von Betroffenen mit Mittelohrimplantaten am „Runden Fenster“

Krems, 17. Dezember 2020 – Mittelohrimplantate, die über das „Runde Fenster“ eine Stimulation der Hörnerven bewirken, verbessern die Hörfähigkeit über Jahre hinweg. In den meisten Fällen erfolgt die Implantation und Nutzung der elektronischen Hörhilfen problemlos. Komplikationen sind auf Betroffene begrenzt, denen zuvor gutartige Tumore im Mittelohr entfernt werden mussten. Dies sind die jetzt veröffentlichten Ergebnisse einer Studie mit Daten von 46 Betroffenen, die an der Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität Krems (KL Krems) durchgeführt wurde. Zeiträume von bis zu 6 Jahren nach der Implantation wurden in der Studie berücksichtigt, die damit eine der ersten Langzeitstudien über die Wirksamkeit dieser speziellen Mittelohrimplantate ist.
