Einen Tag später folgten die anderen drei Netzbetreiber (Amprion, TransnetBW und 50Hertz Transmission) der Tennet und kündigten die Verträge mit der DEG. Das bedeutet, dass die DEG ab heute, dem 22.Dezember keinen Strom und kein Gas mehr an ihre fast 50.000 Kunden, darunter auch der Deutsche Bundestag, die Stadt Erfurt und die Hamburger Elbphilharmonie liefern kann. Der DEG steht kein Bilanzkreis für die Belieferung mehr zur Verfügung. Ihr wurde damit die Grundlage des Geschäftes entzogen. Die DEG selbst verbreitet nun auf ihrer Internetseite die Nachricht, dass "ein Antrag auf Eröffnung des Insolvenzverfahrens unausweichlich ist."
